The short version
Add your target annual income and annual business expenses, then divide that revenue requirement by your own annual billable hours. Multiply the hourly baseline by your chosen billable hours per day for a daily baseline.
Method
How to calculate it
- Target annual revenue = target income + annual expenses.
- Annual billable hours = weekly billable hours × working weeks.
- Hourly baseline = target revenue ÷ annual billable hours; daily baseline = hourly baseline × billable hours per day.
Worked example
Numbers you can follow
Income 80,000 plus expenses 16,000 gives revenue 96,000. At 30 billable hours for 48 weeks, the hourly baseline is 66.66666666666667; an 8-hour daily baseline is 533.3333333333334.
How to read the result
These values describe one personal input scenario. They are not market prices, tax estimates, quote recommendations, or client-acceptance predictions.
