How to Check Invoice Arithmetic

Recompute anonymous invoice line values and weights with exact decimal arithmetic, then compare them with declared totals.

Direct answer

The short version

Multiply quantity by unit value and unit net weight for each anonymous line, sum the products, and subtract the declared totals from the recomputed totals using exact decimal arithmetic.

Method

How to calculate it

  1. Copy only anonymous numeric strings from one or more lines.
  2. Recompute line value = quantity × unit value and line net weight = quantity × unit net weight.
  3. Sum each column and calculate difference = recomputed total − declared total.

Worked example

Numbers you can follow

Quantity 2, unit value 12.50, and unit net weight 0.75 produce line value 25 and net weight 1.5. Against declared totals 25.00 and 1.50, both differences are 0.

How to read the result

Zero differences mean the copied numbers mechanically agree. They do not validate the invoice, declaration, classification, origin, tax treatment, or acceptance.

Limits

What this does not establish

  • No tax, currency-conversion, destination, or rounding rule is applied.
  • Do not enter names, addresses, identifiers, descriptions, files, or other customer data.

FAQ

Common questions

What does a zero difference mean?

The declared total equals the exact total recomputed from the anonymous numbers entered.

Does this check tax or customs rules?

No. It checks arithmetic only and makes no legal, tax, customs, or accounting conclusion.

Can I upload an invoice?

No. The calculator accepts anonymous numeric strings, not invoice files or identifying text.
